Tips & Instructions

Fill N Save 2 Pack Reusable Carafe Filters. Reusable coffee filter for the Keurig 2.0, K200, K300, K400, K500 Series of Machines

How to insert the Fill N Save carafe

There is only one way to insert the carafe and that is with the hinge facing you. Simply pull down the lever located on the front of the chamber of your machine which retracts the needle and insert your Carafe in.

Amount of coffee to fill the Fill N Save carafe

Fill it approximately 75-85%. It doesn’t matter if you are making just one small cup of coffee or a whole carafe. You always need to fill it at least 75% to make sure the whole mesh is covered with coffee or else water will pass through the mesh without passing through the coffee and cause a watered  down cup of coffee.

        How to Brew a Carafe

~ To begin, start by removing the Drip Tray

~ Add water to the reservoir if needed. Bottle or filter water is recommended. The brewer will tell you if it needs more water.

~ Be sure the lid on the carafe is tight and secure.

~ The slight protrusion on the base of the Carafe is to connect with the brewer. Put the carafe in place and be sure the spout of the carafe is in line with the brew head. If it does not line up the carafe will not click. The Carafe will be perfectly in place for the beverage stream to flow directly into the Carafe. There is no need to remove the lid of the Carafe.

~ Fill a Fill N Save Reusable 24K Carafe K-Cups and place it firmly in the Pod Holder. Please be sure that the number in the circle is at 9 o’clock when inserting.

~Then, lower the Handle. The brewer will recognize the inserted Fill N Save Reusable 24K Carafe K-Cups and optimize to the recommended, customized setting for that particular beverage.

~ Next, the display to brew a K-Carafe pod will appear. Then, select a Brew Size (the system will automatically suggest the optimum brew size for that beverage type). Press the blinking “Brew” button and enjoy! Please note, the brew cycle won’t start until the Carafe is secured in place.
~ A full carafe takes about 3 mins

~ If there is an error or ”Insert Carafe” message please check to see if the carafe is inserted properly.

        Best type of coffee Grind

We recommend Medium Grind Coffee. Fine ground coffee (Like espresso for example) tends to retain a lot of water and you will not get a full cup of coffee as the machine does not have enough water pressure to push through water like high end espresso machines. If the ground coffee is Too Coarse ( that is to say not ground enough and has bigger chunks ), the water will pass right through and not fully absorb the coffee, resulting in a weak watered down coffee. Medium grind like a setting between 7-9 at Starbucks or regular store bought medium grind will work best and give you a great cup of coffee!

How to insert the Fill N Save filter

Make sure to insert with the door hinge facing up or down so the handles fit in their place holders. There is a chamber at the bottom of the filter were the machine’s needle is supposed to fit through without puncturing the mesh at the bottom. Make sure to align when first inserting so the needle fits in the hole at the bottom of the filter and does not puncture the mesh.
